I used to spend hours watching videos on youtube where people would sit and show you all of the products they had used up and talk about whether they would buy them again or not so I figured why not do exactly that myself. It’s sort of like having a look through someone’s rubbish bin – a bit weird and probably not something you should admit to but interesting none the less!
In this post, I am going to talk about the nine products that I have used up over the past couple of months. There were a couple more sample sachets that I’ve used as well but they always get a bit messy so I decided to just bin those!
The Body Shop Shea Nourishing Body Butter
I got this in a part of a gift set last Christmas and I loved it. I don’t think I’ve ever had a body shop body butter that I didn’t like! They all have the most amazing scent and they’re just ridiculously moisturising. As this was a gift, I don’t know what the price was like but it has lasted quite a while considering I probably cover my whole body in it about once a week! I would definitely repurchase this once I’ve used up some of my other body products.
Sephora Pineapple Nose Mask
I picked this up at Sephora in Copenhagen and I’m not really sure about it. I also got the face mask which was really good and refreshing since it was really sunny and I had got a little burnt. I half expected the nose strip to be like the charcoal ones that clean out the pores but this was literally just a mini face mask just for your nose. The packaging promises less visible pores and visibly smoother skin but apart from smelling great, I’m not really sure what this product did! I loved the face mask of this collection but I probably wouldn’t buy this nose strip again!
Kiko Hydrating Mask
This is another product that I probably wouldn’t buy again. I bought it a while ago because there was a free gift when you bought two skincare products from Kiko Milano and I was already buying one thing so I figured I would give it a go. I don’t really think it did any hydrating or moisturising. If anything, my skin felt quite dry and tight after using this mask and I didn’t love the scent of it either. I don’t think it was too expensive but I ended up holding onto it for such a long time because it was just never the product that I reached for.
Lush Tea Tree Water Toner
I picked this up from Lush in Canterbury and whilst it was very refreshing to spray on my face on a hot day, I didn’t notice any impact on my acne which is what it was recommended for. It was just under £5 for the bottle and whilst it did last quite a long time I don’t think I’d buy it again because I just didn’t notice any results from it at all.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty
I picked this up at the same Lush store as the toner water and this I actually did feel some benefit from. I still didn’t notice any drastic improvements in my skin but there was definitely some difference when I was using it every three days. I would probably get it again if I was in lush but I’m not going out of my way to pick up another pot.
This is the final product that I picked up in the lush store in Canterbury upon staff recommendation to improve my acne. This again didn’t really do a whole lot, I think it helped to keep my skin a bit cleaner as a cleanser should but I still had regular breakouts even when I was using this every day (apart from the days I was using the face mask.) I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this product either.
Whilst we’re on the topic of acne, this is a gel that was recommended by the doctor to help improve my acne and this also didn’t help at all. All this did was dry out my skin and in turn cause more breakouts. It was also quite pricey at £10 a tube which doesn’t last too long. I have actually been through three of these tubes and haven’t seen any improvement. If anyone does have any tips or products that help with acne please let me know!
Lush Charity Pot hand and body lotion
The annoying thing about this product is that I don’t actually know what was in there apart from a decent hand lotion. I liked the scent and it was moisturising which is pretty much all you can ask for from a hand lotion. This was in a bag of gifts from a work parent at Christmas and I love that it supports worthy causes.
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit moisturiser
I have been using this moisturiser for such a long time and have been through quite a few bottles of the stuff but recently I finished it up and since I’m still getting pretty bad acne, I figured it wasn’t working. I decided to call it a day on this and switch to a new moistursier which is a shame because I actually really loved the scent of this one.
Thats all the products I used up over the past couple of months. What is one product that you’ve finished up that you’ll have to repurchase?
